Get ready to enjoy a fragrant escapade through the Australian bush with our Lemon Myrtle Candle, a delightful fusion of native botanicals and citrusy goodness. As an Aboriginal-owned business, we take pride in celebrating the natural treasures of our land, and this candle is no exception!

Did you know that lemon myrtle is native to Australia and is known for its potent citrusy aroma and medicinal properties? It's true! This fragrant plant has been cherished by Indigenous communities for generations, and now you can experience its magic in the comfort of your own home.

But enough about the facts—let's dive into the fragrance notes that make this candle truly special! At the top, you'll be greeted by the zesty freshness of eucalyptus lemon, like a breath of crisp, clean air after a summer rain. These top notes set the stage for an aromatic adventure that's as refreshing as a bushwalk on a sunny day.

As you journey deeper into the heart of this scent, you'll encounter the middle notes of lemon verbena and sage, like a fragrant bouquet picked fresh from the garden. Imagine the tangy sweetness of lemon verbena mingling with the earthy warmth of sage, creating a harmonious blend that soothes the soul and invigorates the senses.

But it's the base notes of sandalwood and patchouli that add a touch of grounding and depth to the fragrance, like the sturdy roots of a tree anchoring you to the earth. These warm, woody notes provide a sense of stability and connection, reminding you of the timeless wisdom and resilience of Aboriginal culture.

So light our Lemon Myrtle Candle and let its fragrance fill your home with the essence of the Australian bush—fresh, vibrant, and full of life. It's more than just a candle—it's a celebration of nature's beauty and the rich heritage of the land we call home.

    • A great candle experience begins with proper candle care and maintenance. Here are some important burning tips for enjoying your Little Black Duck candle:

      1. Preventing memory rings.

Believe it or not, candles have a memory and the very first time you burn your new candle is the most important. Ensure you burn your candle long enough to completely melt the entire top surface of your candle. If the wax is not allowed to liquefy or to melt from edge to edge of the container, it will create a “memory ring,”. Once a candle has this “memory ring,” it will continue to tunnel and to burn that way for the life of the candle. And no one wants that!

      2. Trim your wick.

Before lighting, always trim the wick to 6mm and remove any wick debris as this encourages an even burn.

      3. Be safe.

Always burn your candle on a heat resistant surface, keep it out of drafts and NEVER leave it unattended while lit. Always burn candles well away from other heat sources, and anything flammable. Make sure burning candles are out of reach of children and pets.

      4. Goodbye is the hardest word.

KNOW WHEN TO SAY GOODBYE. When only 1/2" of wax remains, it's time to let your candle go. Discontinue use of a candle when ½” of wax remains at the bottom of the jar. This will prevent possible heat damage to the counter/surface or container itself. The glass can get hot on the bottom as the flame nears the base of the jar and most of the wax has been consumed. By following this instruction, the glass will not get too hot.

      5. Know your limit.

Candles should not be burned for more than four hours at a time. It is recommended that after burning for four hours, candles be extinguished, allowed to cool for two hours, and trimmed before relighting.

    •  As most candles are poured to order, allow a production time of minimum 1 week. This excludes delivery. Sometimes my shelves are fully stocked and i can grab and pack your candle a little more quickly, but to be safe, allow the 1 week minimum.

This is one of my favourite LBD candles. We have lemon myrtle trees on our property and this candle is a beautiful way to bring that deliciously fresh smell inside! Love it!
