Inspired by the profound wisdom of Indigenous teachings, this candle embodies the essence of yindyamarra—encouraging us to tread lightly, spread kindness, and speak with love as we navigate life's journey. Welcome to a journey of aromatic bliss with our Yindyamarra Candle, named after the Wiradjuri word for "respect."
But before we dive into the fragrance notes, let's uncover a fun fact about blue cypress—the star ingredient of our candle. Did you know that blue cypress essential oil is actually blue in color? This striking hue is unique among essential oils reflecting the vibrant spirit of the Australian landscape.
Now, let's talk about the scent journey that awaits you. At the top of this fragrant adventure, you'll be greeted by the fresh and invigorating aroma of fir needle and cypress, reminiscent of a tranquil bushwalk through ancient forests. These top notes set the stage for the main event—the delicate scent of white jasmine and rose, evoking the beauty and grace of native flora in bloom.
But it's the base notes of sandalwood and patchouli that ground the fragrance in a sense of deep-rootedness and connection to the land. Like the sturdy branches of a tree reaching towards the sky, these base notes symbolize the strength and resilience of Aboriginal cultures, reminding us to honor the wisdom of our ancestors and tread lightly on the earth.
So light up our Yindyamarra Candle and let its fragrance fill your home with warmth, peace, and respect. It's more than just a candle—it's a reminder to slow down, cultivate kindness, and embrace the beauty of living in harmony with the world around us.
When we take care of Mother Earth, she takes care of us.

A great candle experience begins with proper candle care and maintenance. Here are some important burning tips for enjoying your Little Black Duck candle:
1. Preventing memory rings.
Believe it or not, candles have a memory and the very first time you burn your new candle is the most important. Ensure you burn your candle long enough to completely melt the entire top surface of your candle. If the wax is not allowed to liquefy or to melt from edge to edge of the container, it will create a “memory ring,”. Once a candle has this “memory ring,” it will continue to tunnel and to burn that way for the life of the candle. And no one wants that!
2. Trim your wick.
Before lighting, always trim the wick to 6mm and remove any wick debris as this encourages an even burn.
3. Be safe.
Always burn your candle on a heat resistant surface, keep it out of drafts and NEVER leave it unattended while lit. Always burn candles well away from other heat sources, and anything flammable. Make sure burning candles are out of reach of children and pets.
4. Goodbye is the hardest word.
KNOW WHEN TO SAY GOODBYE. When only 1/2" of wax remains, it's time to let your candle go. Discontinue use of a candle when ½” of wax remains at the bottom of the jar. This will prevent possible heat damage to the counter/surface or container itself. The glass can get hot on the bottom as the flame nears the base of the jar and most of the wax has been consumed. By following this instruction, the glass will not get too hot.
5. Know your limit.
Candles should not be burned for more than four hours at a time. It is recommended that after burning for four hours, candles be extinguished, allowed to cool for two hours, and trimmed before relighting.
