ZEST | Lemon Myrtle & Kakadu Plum Soy Candle
Welcome to a journey of vibrant scents and cultural richness with our Zest Candle, where the refreshing aroma of lemon myrtle and the invigorating essence of Kakadu plum come together to create a powerhouse of fragrance that's as uplifting as it is enchanting. As an Aboriginal creator, I'm thrilled to share this blend inspired by the wisdom of our land and the spirit of our people.
Did you know that lemon myrtle is not only a beloved Australian native plant but also holds the title of having the highest concentration of citral in the world? It's no wonder that its fresh and zesty aroma is a favorite in Indigenous culture, used for both its aromatic and medicinal properties. And speaking of Aussie gems, Kakadu plum is known as the world's richest natural source of Vitamin C, making it a true superfood for the skin and a cherished ingredient in traditional Aboriginal remedies.
Now, let's dive into the scent journey of our Zest Candle. At the top, you'll be greeted by the invigorating blend of lime and eucalyptus, like a breath of fresh air in the Aussie bush. These top notes set the stage for the main event—the lively fusion of lemon myrtle, lemon verbena and guava, transporting you to a tranquil oasis where the scent of the land dances on the breeze.
But it's the base notes of patchouli, sandalwood, tea tree and jasmine that anchor the fragrance, like the roots of a mighty gum tree firmly planted in the earth. Together, these notes create a harmonious blend that speaks to the resilience and strength inherent in Aboriginal cultures, inviting you to embrace the journey of self-discovery and inner peace.
So light up our Zest Candle and let its fragrance fill your home with warmth, comfort, and inspiration. It's more than just a candle—it's a celebration of our land, our culture, and the rich offering of scents that make Australia truly unique.
Zest is available with 2 wick options including: a cotton wick or crackling wood wick.

A great candle experience begins with proper candle care and maintenance. Here are some important burning tips for enjoying your Little Black Duck candle:
1. Preventing memory rings.
Believe it or not, candles have a memory and the very first time you burn your new candle is the most important. Ensure you burn your candle long enough to completely melt the entire top surface of your candle. If the wax is not allowed to liquefy or to melt from edge to edge of the container, it will create a “memory ring,”. Once a candle has this “memory ring,” it will continue to tunnel and to burn that way for the life of the candle. And no one wants that!
2. Trim your wick.
Before lighting, always trim the wick to 6mm and remove any wick debris as this encourages an even burn.
3. Be safe.
Always burn your candle on a heat resistant surface, keep it out of drafts and NEVER leave it unattended while lit. Always burn candles well away from other heat sources, and anything flammable. Make sure burning candles are out of reach of children and pets.
4. Goodbye is the hardest word.
KNOW WHEN TO SAY GOODBYE. When only 1/2" of wax remains, it's time to let your candle go. Discontinue use of a candle when ½” of wax remains at the bottom of the jar. This will prevent possible heat damage to the counter/surface or container itself. The glass can get hot on the bottom as the flame nears the base of the jar and most of the wax has been consumed. By following this instruction, the glass will not get too hot.
5. Know your limit.
Candles should not be burned for more than four hours at a time. It is recommended that after burning for four hours, candles be extinguished, allowed to cool for two hours, and trimmed before relighting.
As most candles are poured to order, allow a production time of minimum 1 week. This excludes delivery. Sometimes my shelves are fully stocked and i can grab and pack your candle a little more quickly, but to be safe, allow the 1 week minimum.
